Mr. Theriot is the firm's founder and managing member. He has practiced public accounting for over forty years, beginning his career with Ernst & Young and as a partner in local firms before founding the firm in 1991. Mr. Theriot specializes in all aspects of federal and state tax planning and reporting; assisting parties in buying, selling, and financing business transactions; valuing businesses; and assisting parties and their legal counsel in litigation related matters. He has qualified as an expert witness on numerous occasions in federal and state district courts throughout Louisiana and neighboring states and in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Theriot has testified in matters involving business valuation; federal and state taxation issues; commercial damages with special emphasis on lost profits; personal injury damages; unfair pricing disputes; antitrust and unfair trade practices; and patent and copyright infringement. He has been admitted to the bar of the United States Tax Court as a non-attorney. Mr. Theriot was an adjunct professor of accounting at Nicholls State University for eight years and has spoken at seminars and conferences throughout the United States. Mr. Theriot graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a B.S. in economics and a M.S. in accounting. He is currently both a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and holds the CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics) credential. Mr. Theriot has served on the boards of corporations and non-profit organizations and is a past president of the Society of Louisiana CPAs.
